What makes a university successful? Is it the size of its buildings, the value of its endowments, the reputation of its professors, or the number of its graduates listed in Who’s Who?
We at Southwestern Adventist University believe that the true measure of a school of higher learning’s success is in the lives of its students and alumni. For Southwestern is dedicated to changing lives. The school has decades of experience in this area. Many of our graduates choose to commit their lives to service. Many pick difficult and demanding assignments over the lucrative and prestigious ones.
There are few celebrities associated with Southwestern, but many missionaries doctors and nurses, dedicated and underpaid teachers, business executives with a burden to serve their community, and self-sacrificing preachers. To them, service is not an experiment, but a way of life. It is the natural, appropriate response to the Master, who calls for all of us to follow Him.
